We are writing this letter in regard to granite countertop  installation performed in our home in Monroe, OR.  The house was built in 1968 and after 43 years needed some upgrading to reflect a more modern look.  We decided to replace our old Formica countertops with granite along with new sink fixtures.  We chose a beautiful less common granite called Sedna which varies greatly from slab to slab in its uniqueness.  This was of great concern to us as we wanted to be very selective on whom to choose to perform the layout, cutting and installation because the slabs we chose could never be replaced.

We conducted a thorough investigation into several granite installers from Eugene to Portland and we decided to choose Keystone Granite, Inc. to perform the work.  Sue Salleng was our sales representative.  When we first met she was both knowledgeable and confident in what Keystone could accomplish.  She made us feel comfortable and actually introduced us to some of the craftsmen that we would be working with.  Sue worked with us personally through every aspect of the job from cost estimates, scheduling, payment structures and customer satisfaction.  She either answered our questions or directed us to one of their house professionals who were glad to help.

Dave Scott was our templater who arrived at our home and took the all important measurements which would determine the exact positioning of the cuts in the stone that would create our new countertops.  He was a total professional in determining the seams that would be needed and where to place them, as well as getting a perfect fit.  He also included us in these decisions as we would ultimately be the ones that would have to live with them.  Once Dave created a template of our countertops they were entrusted to Dave Heidt, Keystone’s master sawyer.  This man is a true artist in that it is his responsibility to lay out the template on the stone and determine where to make the cuts and match the seams to achieve optimal beauty in the finished countertops.  We both feel he is very gifted in this respect and were more than pleased when we were again invited to the shop for our input in his decisions before it was agreed to cut the stone.  After the cutting process the final install was placed in the capable hands of Fernando Valenzuela, a master veteran installer of more than 30 years.  The installation went without a hitch as he made moving and placing extremely heavy and fragile stone look easy.  He exuded confidence and craftsmanship all the way through the installation as he cheerfully laughed and joked.  We have to admit the counters as well as the whole kitchen turned out beautiful.  Our kudos to all that were involved in the transformation; especially the team from Keystone Granite whom we would recommend to anyone for their granite countertop sales and installation.  I must say that Donna and I were both pleased beyond our expectations with the work performed by Keystone.

I just wanted to thank you and your team for the terrific job on our bathroom counter-tops.  Your team went above and beyond, and Chris and I were truly grateful for all the effort that went into making our bathroom beautiful.  Everyone we met with your company was not only polite and courteous, but extremely professional as well.  With your help, we turned and unfortunate situation into a work of art, and for that we are truly grateful.  In the future, if our friends ever contemplate getting new countertops we will most definitely recommend you.  thank you once again.  You were great!

My wife, Shannon and I, are extremely pleased with the service and product of Keystone Granite, Inc.

First, Alicia was critical in securing our business with her polite approach offering to directly receive our estimate request via email and bypass the estimation process that had become delayed through the big box hardware store.  My wife and I were undecided on making a decision regarding granite but we both suspected we had found a company that put their customer’s first.

Additionally, Alicia’s attention to detail and follow-up was a pleasant surprise.  Specifically she recalled and captured the details of our conversation when my wife and I visited the showroom to discuss picking out the slab.  During that visit we discussed the future placement of the largest piece of templated to capture a specific detail in the granite slab.  This conversation took place before the demo crew came out to template the job.  Shannon and I were unable to visit the showroom after the template was completed.  Alicia ensured, without a reminder from us that our favorite detail in the slab was included as a main focus in the main piece of granite.  Very nice!

And finally, Alicia was very pleasant, patient and informative as my wife and I decided on a Keystone product.

Although I have no industry knowledge of granite installation, I was impressed with the time taken by the template crew to ensure the cabinets were level and perfect the template.  Additionally, the lead of the two man crew took the time to point out several items that were helpful for me.  I communicated these details to the contractor refinishing the cabinets.

Two separate contractors (painting and cabinet) were quietly watching the template and installation as they performed other work.  Both mentioned to me, unsolicited, that the preparation and the installation was the best they have ever seen, one of which has twenty years of experience.

We were impressed to receive a call from Sue after the installation was complete, inquiring how we liked it.

The price point was extremely attractive compared to other granite in our area.

In short, the end product is amazing and a highlight in our kitchen which is the social center of our house for our family and parties.  The process was easy and hassle free.  Everyone will know it was Keystone Granite that installed such a great product! Thank you!
